This week, the prompts at Ligo Haibun are the following quotes by Ingrid Bergman and Marilyn Monroe respectively: ‘A kiss is a lovely trick by nature to stop speech when words become superfluous’ and ‘ Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.’ I choose to go with Ingrid Bergman’s quote.
Nature’s Kiss
It’s a joy when Chris and I wake up every dawn to the beauty of the silvery dew drops glistening on the leaves and flowers in our yard. I’m always stunned gazing at the splendour of swaying colours in the cool breeze as they open up and glow under the kiss of the drops. Wordlessly, my husband then pulls me gently to him and kisses me ever so tenderly by the bedroom window, in celebration of such a wonderful gift from nature.
You outdo your self EVERY TIME! I just can’t get enough poetry!!! WHen’s the book coming out?!
Oh Jassy, looking for a publisher to take a look at the poems/haiku (sigh)
SELF RELEASE!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!
Thinking about that too, lovey. Thanks a million 🙂

‘No words’ how about two…just beautiful.
I posted to for this prompt… the second was for ‘the kiss’

I was playing with another prompt and ‘bingo’ the light went off that I could also make it into a haibun to fit the ligo challenge.
Self publishing seems like so much work… Wonder if we can find folks on line who like to do that sort of thing? I know of people who have done it. But I don’t want to have to buy 25 copies at $10 or even sell it online through Amazon or something like that for a kindle download. I don’t have a kindle and don’t like making computer purchases myself.
Thank you so much, Jules.
And you are right. I don’t even know what self-publishing entails and that is the truth.I’ve been thinking about it and the fact that I have to learn some more on the topic.
I also HATE this kindle and e-book thing. Fact is I have trouble reading and working on the computer for my official work and I just don’t seem to see how I can read books effectively on the machine with my poor eyesight. That, coupled with poor power supply here make it quite cumbersome reading kindle and all. I’ve never made an Amazon purchase much as it seems so easy 🙂
And let’s face it, there is nothing like the hard copy in your hands. 🙂
