Nice. One tiny flame can defeat a mass of darkenss
Thanks so much, Noel Actually this is about my eldest son. He has a patch of silver hair sitting on top of his head amidst the black mass. He was born with it and it spreads even as he grows. 🙂
Wow. That’s interesting about your son. The haiku has so much more meaning as I read it again.
Glad you got it, Nana.
amazing! one streak of silver overspreading and overtaking blackness! usually happens at or around the fissure lines on the skull!
Is that so? I never knew that. That explains it. The patch is around where fissure lines were visible when he was a kid. Thanks for the info!.
The interesting bit is that there was a deep black spot on the scalp, more like a birth mark where the hair was exceptionally blacker than the rest. And then suddenly at a time that I could not even remember, that black patch of hair started to change into silver and that is that, more silver than grey! 🙂
Aww…this is interesting! Like that ‘glow’ on the crown, Celestine 🙂 Lovely!
Thank you so much, Panchali. It really sets him apart 🙂
I’m assuming that no amount of darkness will quench that light.
You assume right, my dear friend!
“Eternal light” excellent.
Thank you Alastair
Lovely. My sister had one of these silver patches, too. It was so exotic as a woman.
I can imagine!
I would imagine on your young man it is also entrancing.
You know what? Girls are always ‘rummaging’ their fingers in his hair for a feel or touch of it and he has a hard time slapping those hands away. Are my fears unfounded?
My goodness. Just as I thought. Entrancing. Girl bait.
this is lovely and cute……..and that eternal light…love it ……..wonderful haiku Celestine 🙂
Thank you Sumana!
Lovely salt and pepper Celestine!! 😉
Thank you Nanka 🙂
Celestine, Wonderful! Very clever haiku. Space as a large fabric with light as a patch. 🙂
Thank you so much, Claudia.
He’s an old one come back 🙂
Silver streaks glow, light the years ahead.
Thank you for the lovely comment, Dotta. Indeed he is 🙂
I thought you meant the moon in the night sky!
That too Gilly. This is open to lots of interpretations 🙂
Silver patches, eternal light.. this is giving me ideas, how about you write a short haiku for my upcoming supernatural thriller? (Cydonia. Rise of the fallen) I would love it my friend. I’ll email you with the details! I’ll insert it into one of the chapters. Hope you’ll say yes, I’m blowing you kisses all the way 😉 🙂 😉 🙂 🙂 🙂
Of course Sandra. It’s a big honour and I will do it willingly. Kisses back dear friend! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Thanks dear friend, I’ll send the details on Monday, got to run now! 🙂
Sure!
Niice – A night light of sorts! 🙂
Thanks dear!
I don’t understand this one. I’ve pondered it and I don’t understand it’s meaning. Is it religous?
Jassy, maybe you meant to comment on my other post, ‘Shepherd’ which is religious. Anyway, this is not religious per se, but it can be interpreted to be so.
This refers to my son who has a streak of silver or white hair on the crown of his head. ‘Eternal light’ is there for poetic license to mean the silver hair is a light to lighten his path forever. I hope this helps my friend. 🙂
AAHHHH See I knew it couldn’t just be religious! How did his first day go?
Oh, he is home on holidays and will be going back to senior high school next week!
OH he’s so grown up!
Reminds me of my great-grandmother. She had black hair with a bit of white on top. Very nice haiku!
Thank you, Eva!
Wonderful!
