Done for Carpe Diem. We are to write a tanka inspired by the following tanka by Ishikawa Takuboku. I did try, guys! 🙂
Ishikawa Takuboku’s
On the white sand
Of the beach of a small isle
In the eastern Sea
I, my face streaked with tears
Am playing with a crab
 under the tree’s shade
gossamer lines of blurred weaves
mirror of life’s stretch
I, humbled by the patterns
gaze at the slow fading hues
