Challenge Wednesday by Jeremy of The Boi Poet is back after a short break. This week’s lines of poetry are below and we are to link back to Jeremy:
- the wise stars bedding over me – Young by Anne Sexton
- Haunt me with deities I never saw – There May Be chaos Still Around The World by George Santayana
- One day won’t we all have to be brave? – Greenwich by Kirsten Dierking
Life
these stars flicker their luminescence
purging souls of their wantonness
we bleed from the scorching touch
cleansing ritual of old
these mad deities
haunting our dreams
we kowtow
them as
lord
of
the skies
all-seeing
in their splendor
garnishing the moon
but shadows gather sheaves
our work is up for tally
and soon, won’t we have to be brave
when night portents the dimming of stars
