Done for Mindmiserymenagerie, BastetsShardorma photo prompt. We are to look at these stairs and try to imagine where they’d take us. Or we could choose our own photos or art work and write about it!
(3-5-3-3-7-5)
I’m on a
pathway to nowhere
this distance
I call life
at once tortuous and joyful
but will I get there?
(1-2-3-4-1)
perhaps
Jacob’s ladder
might propel me
to reach there yet
sublime

I appreciate your patience with me as I catch up on your blogs. Thanks a million! Shalom.
Interesting take on the prompt…likethe introspection and how you used the forms to such a effective advantage!
Thank you Georgia. I’ve been in a downward mood all day!
I think that’s got to do with spring…
I hope so and it’s a passing thing
Even the most beautiful blossoms
Or the twittering fof the birds
Sometimes don’t work their magic
When spring fever comes along…
A hug and hope you feel better today 🙂
I hope what awaits, or who at the top of the stairs makes the climb all the worthwhile.:)
Joyce, with Jesus at the top of the stairs, it will be a worthwhile climb. 🙂
Most definitely. I see now with your response you think like I do. 🙂
🙂
I hope that writing has lifted your mood 🙂

Thank you sis!
It is amazing how so few words make so much sense, Celestine. Life is a pathway to nowhere.
Thanks Stella 🙂

I especially enjoy the reference to Jacob’s ladder. Nicely written.

Did. Thanks. 🙂
Life is surely a lot like you describe in this wonderful poem. I’m glad to say that I’m actually finding more joy as I get older, although I still live with (and always will live with) a mood disorder.
Thank you so much for visiting Poetry of the Netherworld.
My pleasure. 🙂 May God give you the grace to forge on 🙂
My favourite is the first one… But they are both just so lovely!
Thank you CC 🙂
