The photo is by kind permission of Gilly. Gilly aptly titled her post Petals of Loss. Please step over to read her poignant poem. 🙂 My heart is heavy within me this week for all the carnage going on in parts if not all of the world.
Gods of War
blood red, crimson red
rivulets in wanton spree
feeding gods of war
gods deaf to ululations
spawned from unholy darkness

It’s seems the gods of war are not appeased yet. Great piece, Celestine.
Painfully right, Kiru. Thanks, as always 🙂
Stunning Celestine, unholy darkness is exactly the way it is.
Thank you Gilly. Expect an email from me soon. 🙂
I understand your pain Celestine! I’m going through the same and wrote my longest post so far on the subject of Islamist beheading, killing and destroying innocent people. I find it difficult to think of anything else my sister. You sum it up well!
Thank you Sandra. Off to read it now. 🙂
These are heartfelt words. Really beautiful.
Kimmy, thanks 🙂
Beautiful..
Thank you Audrey. 🙂
Rivulets of blood…feeding gods of war. A very apt and vivid use of words.
When will peace explode on earth? Love these words, Celestine.
Stella, thanks. 🙂
That’s dark. I love the line “rivulets in wanton spree”
Thank you Nana. We live in dark times and sometimes my writings might reflect this. 🙂
Brilliant. Unholy darkness. Shiver.
Thank-you Eva. 🙂
Gods of war must be purely human invention! There are no Gods of war 😦
I sincerely hope not!
Trisha, you are right. But all these war hoodlums are feeding a god of war with all the blood and carnage! 🙂
