Done for Carpe Diem.
Again today, CDHK features the new Afriku sensation from my country Ghana, Adjei Agyei Baah, co-founder of the Poetry Foundation Ghana. We are to write a new haiku in the same sense, tone, spirit as any of the ones below by Adjei.
summer sun
all in her eyes
the ocean, sand and nudity!

the silent clap of a butterfly

Thanks so much dear the delightful intro and republication at your site. We are almost wrapping up the programmes and the assignment and presentations keep on mounting.
Hope to finish soon and honor our appointment.
Thanks once more and extend my love the family.
fondly,
Adjei
Adjei, so good to see you here. Of course I’m waiting oh so patiently till we meet. And it’s a great pleasure any time to post your work on my blog. Such a beautiful inspiration. 🙂
Ahh the butterfly, that’s exactly what they do beautifully described!
Yes. Another great haiku from Adjei.
just loved that description of butterfly! silent claps- indeed!
Yes, Adjei is simply wonderful 🙂
Most all of nature is ‘nude’ – And the colors and shapes are extraordinary.
🙂
You are right, Jules. A lovely observation. 🙂
I knew you would do a powerful one in the first one:) the second one made me smile as I recalled running after a baby butterfly to take a photo…never realized he could be shy:)
Lol! The first hesitant step of the unfolding wings; this time she certainly would not want to be captured on lens doing that.
I caught her twice and wrote about it here;D have not seen any since that day though 😦 but they did their job those lovely butterflied…wild flowers are growing everywhere in the bushes.
About three or four day ago I saw a lovely one early in the morning at home perched on a Noni shrub hopping from leaf to leaf. I’m not a photographer or I would have captured that lovely moment. 🙂
I just use my phone for photos…that must have been a great moment you saw:)
The beach fever is so sensual…lovely thoughts.
Managua, many thanks.
Interesting to write on the babyhood of butterflies. To me it’s nicely ambiguous as I think of caterpillars as the baby. Love it.
Thank you E A M. 🙂 Actually I thought of using the caterpillar but i liked the alliteration in baby butterfly. 🙂
You’re quite right. It flows well as well as being more unusual.
🙂 Thanks. 🙂
What a nice contrast. Nudity versus coyness.
Lol, Stella Didn’t realise the contrast until you picked it up. Great observation, my friend. 🙂
The expression – summer sun all in her eyes ” and the “silent clap ‘ are absolutely brilliant ! SO I am going to harp the same song again Celestine – imagery, graphical nature of your choice of words…. and my instant falling fro them 🙂 🙂 Vivid .
Kokila, thank you. But those are the works of my countryman, Adjei Agyei Baah who was featured by CDHK. 🙂 He is amazing.
I like ‘Nudity, sheathed in summer rays,’ it seems to portend great things! Didn’t know I’ve missed so many of your posts my friend, do forgive me… Could hardly breathe due to meetings upon meetings!! 😦
I understand Sandra. Things can get hectic in that way. Great having you around when you can. 🙂
Mmmmmmm. Just soaking in the beauty of your haiku.
Janice, thank you. What a lovely comment. 🙂
Well, let’s have some beach fever, shall we! 😉
Summer Sun
Sure. Ever ready. 🙂
What a fantastic couple! Love how you used the juxtaposition in the first haiku … “dressing” the lovely lady in sunshine! Bravo.
Georgia, thank you for the lovely comment. 🙂
Nature very rarely hides herself but when she does, she comes out as a butterfly thus making the world that little bit more beautiful.
Just like you words. 🙂
Ooh, I love yours about the butterfly. Amazing imagery!
Nadine, thanks so much. 🙂
