Done for Carpe Diem.
We are challenged to write a “Full Circle” series of haiku where the goal is to write haiku with the following twelve (12) word-whirls in a clock-wise direction: Heaven,
Clouds, Palm tree, Fountain, Goddess, Desert, Jazz cafe, Duke Ellington, Summer night, Honeysuckle, Ancient road, Hill.
a glimpse of heaven
amidst parting clouds
the palm tree in supplication
2
silver fountain
trailing the steps of the goddess
into the desert
3
behind the jazz cafe
wandering fingers of the Duke
strokes the summer night
4
honeysuckles
drawing him up ancient roads
view of scented hills

Celestine,
I love the dream-like quality and narrative flow of this poem. Reading it was like eating ice cream on a hot summer day in the shade… refreshing, luscious and satisfying. 🙂
Alice
wow Alice, your comment alone is poetic 🙂
Busidh,
Thanks. You are too sweet, 🙂

Indeed. I hear you. 🙂 Have a great weekend too. 🙂
I like the tone of these – pensive yet hopeful. The one about the goddess really speaks to me.

Oh Hamish! 🙂
Beautifully and elegantly done.
Delores, thank you.
I sent you a reply earlier from my tablet but it doesn’t seem to have worked. I like all your haiku here particularly the one about the goddess.

Oh how beautiful…and what fun to try a challenge like this…I haven’t written much in the way of poetry for decades, but this makes me want to try again. Thanks for such an inspiring post.
Thank you Timeless Lady. Please give it a try. I should love to read it. 🙂
It’s always about finding the time for me…although that shouldn’t be counted as an excuse. I spend a lot of time through the midweek with my grandchildren.
And that is priceless. 🙂
They all so lovely.
Thank you Madhuri. 🙂
