What a wonderful response, Gillena. Thanks a million. 🙂
I like this modern times theme, but was your grandma’s soup really like medicine?
🙂
Lol, Gilly. The favorite or popular remedy/medicine for malaria or fever is hot light coup with chicken. I tell you all the chill in your body will vanish within a second. 🙂
And Jewish mamas are famous for recommending chicken soup for curing everything from the flu to a broken leg! I always thought it was just a joke until I took my son to a Jewish doctor who diagnosed a rumbly appendix and prescribed chicken soup. It must have worked, the boy is a man now and still has his appendix!
Wow! Chicken soup does work, Lisa. Good to see you here and I’m grateful for your visit and insight. 🙂
Hello Celestine, I’ve been visiting your blog more than you know! I read your haiku every time I get an email about a new post, but I’ve had a little problem commenting on them and nothing I’ve said anywhere online has been showing up since at least the middle of August (see http://anzlitlovers.com/2015/08/29/well-this-is-embarrassing/). Hopefully all is well now.
What! This is serious. I check my spam daily and I would have found your comments if they had gone to spam. WordPress must really sit up! 🙂
I’m glad the problem resolved itself or WordPress actually sat up!
Incidentally I’ve stopped receiving posts in email inbox for no apparent reason. I have to go to the reader to fish out posts, something I never opted for in the beginning!
I’m sure your mom’s chicken soup cures most things AND is delicious too. Nice poem.
Alice
Very delicious I can tell you 🙂
🙂
Great metaphor. Love it.
Kimmy thanks.
some memories always stay with us!
Very true 🙂
I miss GrandMaman’s chicken soup…it was medicinal but tasty:)
Yes, that much. 🙂 Chicken soup is a favourite of mine. 🙂
You can’t go wrong with my grandma’s culinary delight. Yum yum.
True true! 🙂
nice one Celestine! I liked the chicken soup – medicine link – excellent
Freya, thanks. 🙂
There is that taste, yes, and it takes the poet to explain it so.
Hamish, thanks. I knew you would see it. 🙂
So soothing.
Wish I had a bond like this with my g’parents. So happy for my kids that they are blessed with all 4.
Yes they are, Rosy. My kids are lucky to have their grandma staying with us. Though sometimes I wonder if they realise just how lucky. 🙂
