Christmas is a sad time for the homeless and those who are alone. Hope the Christian spirit reigns at this time of year .Merry Christmas !
Hope so too, Rall. Merry Christmas and the best of the Season to you. 🙂
In the town I live in, there was a homeless soup kitchen in a car park. When they started building a hotel, cinema and shops there, they moved the soup kitchen elsewhere. This is the only place where the homeless can get something warm to eat and drink of an evening. This has been going for 21 years, with the first sixteen being out of the back of cars until they were given a static place five years ago.
This soup kitchen was placed in a new carpark just off the main road. It has had to close now because people who go to the church over the road did the most unchristian thing and complained that there were homeless people in the carpark when they went to church.
Your haiku made me think of that. I just hope that other people aren’t so callous when it comes to those less fortunate.
What an unfortunate thing for a church to have done. Sometimes, we Christians just propound the word of God without practicing it. How do we expect others to follow Christ when we do not exhibit or show love to one another.
It’s been a while Al. 🙂 The very best of the Season to you and yours. 🙂
Oh yes I hope he is well nourished.
My hope too Gilly. 🙂
Thank you for this thoughtful Christmas haiku
My pleasure, Annabel. 🙂
