The Cherita was created by al li. I’ve fallen in love with this lovely poetry form. And for each working day I shall endeavour to post a cherita a day on my blog. 🙂

I love the pacing of this one (amazing the variation that is possible in the form) – especially the voice of the middle couplet – and the subtle imagery at large (just before dawn, not AT dawn) —CC
I appreciate your words, Carlos. 🙂
Gossamer is one of my favourite words 😉
Ow, thanks Joanna. I love that word too and I use it quite a bit in my poems. 🙂
Thank you for the link Celestine. I think I’m in love with this form. And you’ve aced it. So beautifully done.
My pleasure, Sumana. 🙂 The submission window is opened now so you could really consider sending in your cherita poems before the end of July. 🙂
Now I will always have a picture of your hubby telling you how to make a bed. Oh too funny!! Absolutely beautifully penned and the imagery is exquisite. 💝
You have me laughing hard, Amy. I do admit i can be lazy at times.
Thanks so much for the kind words. 🙂
I truly love this form,Celestine! You tell a tale so beautiful with it too. My GrandMaman was such a great raconteur d’histoire too…maybe this could be a nice way to share tidbits of her life. I have been searching for a way to write a book on her life.
Cheryl Lynn, thanks so much for the encouraging words. I dare say with such an impressive background, you will have more than enough theme to write your cherita. 🙂 Looking forward to reading your work. 🙂
It’s nice to see a new poetic form. I look forward to reading more of them.
Thanks so much. I hope I don’t disappoint 🙂
Each line has a setting of its own and yet you combine them strikingly to tell one beautiful love story
Ow, thanks a million my dear. 🙂
just loved it! absolutely!
I’m thrilled. 🙂
