Trying my hands at the quadrille (44 word poem. Word! 🙂 )
Stale Death
they say love is blind
and perhaps so
for how could I have failed
to glimpse the darkness
beneath your light
smooth velvet is the night
that hides sinister cravings and urges
I shudder at your perfumed breath
a musky odour of stale death

WOW!!!!
Ow thanks sis. Glad to see you here today too. 🙂
Wow… you rocked the form Celestine! Loved this one, its darkness And thanks so much for pointing my blog out to Elaine. Now I’ve a new form to experiment with!!!
Thanks, Rajani. I wish lots of my friends will be part of the fun going on. I do love micro poetry and love to try my hands on the many forms. 🙂 Many thanks for this. 🙂
foucs – sinister;the smooth velvet was the shield.
Thanks for your intriguing quadrille Celestine. I’m happy you dropped by my blog today
much love…
A pleasure to also have you here, Gillena. 🙂
Wow! The last line hits hard. Perfect.
Sumana, thank you 🙂
WHOA!!! I could never write with a pressure on me to use only 44 words!! Celestine, this is mind blowing! Good for you!! 🤗
Ow, Amy, I’m sure you can. LOL. Thanks so much sis. 🙂
Sis you called me. Wow how I loved it! And about what you did with that pressure of 44 words I honestly don’t know if I could write like that. My style of writing just flows and I’m always conscious of trying to write no more than 800 words. A lot of time I fail at that. LOL
But you ARE good, Amy. I mean it. You have a beautiful way with words that touches the soul. 🙂 And yes, we are sisters are we not? 🙂
Thank you, Celestine. And yes we are most certainly sisters. It was just so nice to hear.💕💖💕
🙂 🙂
ugh! creepy – love the smooth velvet hiding all the nasties…
Thanks Freya. We have a saying here that the night covers or hides so much darkness and evil. 🙂
Woo…a visceral response to that one!!! Preach on, lol!
I hear you sis. 🙂
That’s really good Celestine
Al, thanks so much. 🙂
The beginning of a Flash Fiction mystery?
😉
It certainly looks so. 🙂
Sweet sis I’m sorry to hear you’re troubled, thinking of you.
It is well, Gilly. 🙂
