Today at Rajani’s we are to write ekphrastic poetry. Add to the thousand words a picture says! Find an image that inspires you and write about it using any form of micro-poetry. Share your poem using comments or Mister Linky.
The photo is by kind permission from Gilly. I have written a haiku on this photo here before but this time I’m trying the Quadrille. (44 words)
Release Me
if I could reach into you
a sorcerer
and read your soul
I’ll discover your desires
shrouded in unholy places
a twinkle depressing the coldness
from the night’s
leftover of lovemaking
I will discover
glimmers of passions spent
on alters of self-adoration
release me

This reads as a plea to be released from a relationship that is all wrong.. powerfully written. Very stark. Thanks for sharing!!
Rajani, thank you for your words. 🙂
Wow! Nicely done ☺
Pat, thank you.
The speaker has indeed read this soul & said what needed to be said.
Too true 🙂
The flowers bursting to get beyond the fence, the cage of its confinement, add a much deeper tone to your words,
Elizabeth
