Done for Haiku Horizons. My first boy got admission to the premier university in our country, University of Ghana, Legon, to read Political Science, Heritage Studies and Philosophy. We just completed his registration processes. Its been a hectic few days but I’m a grateful and excited mom. 🙂

Carpe Diem Special: Footprints in the Sand

Footprints, Hando

I’ve been missing out on the Carpe Diem musical prompts this December mainly because I am not able to access the music (this plugin thing is evading me) So today I’m responding to the Special prompt to write a haiku in the mood and spirit of Hando’s below:

footprints in the sand
to here and there and nowhere
and the gull flying

Mine

retracing my steps

from here and there and nowhere

gull wipes footprints clean

Footprints, Waltz

Day Twenty Eight of the  September Haiku Heights challenge and the prompt is Waltz. I missed yesterday’s prompt of Footprints. (poor internet connectivity and later on power cut. It seems as if I am always giving one excuse after the other, but folks, unfortunately this is Africa for you or more specific, Ghana, and welcome to it. 🙂 )  So, here we go with the two. Please bear with me, as usual 🙂

(1) Footprint

Footprints of the gods

Mighty strides in sparkling hues

The clouds swoon in awe

(2) Waltz

She waltzed through my heart

A whirlwind of soft flowery musk

My dainty petal
