Micropoetry Month

This morning I heard sad news that my dear friend and fellow blogger, Kimberley Floria has passed on to glory. Kimmy was such a lovely person, full of life and love for humanity. She was such a brilliant poet, who wrote with a beautiful passion full of candour. She bravely fought lupus for over eight years and her humour and upbeat attitude was both endearing and an inspiration.; Kimmy darling, rest well in the bosom of your maker. I will miss you my dear, but I know that the good Lord has called you to rest from your toils. May the angels sing Hallelujah even as they receive your precious soul in eternity. Adieu, Kimmy darling.

Thirteen Ways of Looking in the Mirror – For Kimmy

(1)

a little butterfly

seeking her own space

my twin

(2)

the waltz of a falling leaf

is but a languid drop to earth

even the winds fall in tandem

with its rhythm

haste not in departing

slowly let your breath

extinguish in me

(3)

your silence

is the only one I know
for I have seen silence

even in whispers
from the grace
at dawn

(4)

3-5-3-3-7-5 – A Shadorma

reading you

I read me in you

we are words

echoing

fresh emptiness of the soul

life is but vapour

(5)

the gentle nudge

I felt at dawn

was not hubby waking me

to a mad moment of love

but it was you

a breeze really

perfume breathless

you envelope me

in a farewell dance of death

so, dance on Kimmy

(6)

5-7 5-7 5-7 5-7-7 – A Choka

you mirror this pain

as if on your wedding night

breathless abandon

you approach this agony

in throes of rapture

and when the darkness descends

never to depart

your face mirrors the sublime

when the earth becomes your dust

(7)

noonday heat

a butterfly

rests in my shadow

(8)

graveside lilies

the little girl inhales

her father’s memory

 (9)

they say

the colour of death
is grey

but in dying
you exhale
only clouds of silver

 (10)

mirror on the wall

do I look like mother

the dimple in her cheek

mocks me

 (11)

and still I rise

poised thousand times

on the scepter of death

(12)

oh teach me to number my days

for my ways are not your ways

for to me to live is joy

and to die is gain

we are but twins

littered in one day

but where is your victory

oh death

where is your sting

I live on in you

(13)

and still I rise

on the wings of faith

my victory total

even in death
