COVID 19, Ghana, Haiku, lockdown, Muse, Publication, Stardust Haiku, writing history

Hello dear friends and loved ones. I’m out and about now. šŸ™‚! And it feels good. The cares of this world kept me hiding out, even as my muse left me in limbo. Throughout the lockdown, I could not string a line of haiku or even a sentence for my novel in progress which I started ages ago.
But I read and read and read and still reading my books piling up on the shelves of my study I ranted about months ago. It felt and feels so good to just relax in the arm chair with the AC on full blast (after all President of Ghana is paying half the cost of electricity for us for three months), reading a Joel Rosenberg or a Daniel Silva. Real cool indeed and mind you, hard cover. Though Kindle is convenient, there is nothing like reading a physical book, in your hands, occasionally caressing the cover while giving it a sneak peek.

But come out I should and did with this haiku of mine published in the Stardust Haiku online Magazine edited by Valentina Ranaldi- Adams. Very much appreciated Valentina. šŸ™‚

I guess with this, dear friends, my muse might be back in full swing. At least I hope so. šŸ™‚

reverberating . . .

empty tomb

Fire

I’ll sing to your dawn

on gossamer harps
you shall be my songĀ Ā

whileĀ  I softly strum you
my fire
my muse

The Cherita was created by al li. I’ve fallen in love with this lovely poetry form. And for each working day I shall endeavour to post a cherita a day on my blog. šŸ™‚

Muse

heat, pulsating heat

this girl is on fireĀ
burning with words

oh for a muse
to set the words
ablaze!

Jan '13 Mindful Writing ChallengeDay 11 of the Mindful Writing Challenge. My 10th Small Stone

My Muse

Sitting behind my computer in the office

It is break time

My lover calls me with an urgent passion

And I cannot resist.

I yield as the words

Kiss the page in wild abandon.

Poet At Play – Muse In Limbo

Muse In Limbo

Days Now
I am in limbo,
My muse refuses
To spike up
Ā
Glued to the screen
Not even the flicker
Will ignite my muse
Ā
Others, inspiring
Posts and blogs
Only make me
Marvel at
So much creativity
And genius
Out there.
Ā
Yet my muse
Is silent.
Perhaps
I am under
The weather
Perhaps
It is menopausal
Or a touch of blues
Or the boys
And hubby
Wearing me out
With incessant
Demands
Or I am
Just plain tired
Ā
Reading a chore
Not the joy
I know
Work a drag
As I lag
Ā
Wake up
Musy muse
Revive yourself
Blaze the laze
Away
Erase the haze
Dazzle
Thirsty cisterns
An Elixir
Your words
Ā
Ā

Poet At Play – Sleep No More

Lady Macbeth, Muse, Sleep No More

Sleep No More
Ā
It is late in the night,
So late
The dead silence
Soothes my eyelids
Luring me
To shut them
And succumb
To the sweetness
Of sleep.
Ā
And why not?Ā
My dear one
Already yields
To the lull
Of the night
His gentle snores
Mingle
With the child-like
Imitation
Of our boys,
The two sounds
Blending
A discordant
Music
Creating
The only whispers
Of the night.
Ā
Behind my computer
I giveĀ  birth
And ignore
The cold place
By his side
Rightfully mine
I ignore
The look
Before he drifts off,
Hot or cold
Or both
I choose not
To see
Nor know
Ā
And I resist
Sleep,
For my muse
Has murdered
My sleep.
I am no
Lady Macbeth
ButĀ  I shall
Sleep no more
Till I have
Scribbled
And released
My muse
Ā
