moonlit night
I hear your footsteps
behind my window
but all I see
is your silhouette
merging into another

full moon
dispelling the shadows cast

Shadows
ghosts
flickering lantern
reveals their shadow
2
moonless night
grandma dispelling shadows
with her flickering lantern
3
I write your name with soot
on the mud wall
but it is blown away
by that breath of wind
from the wicker of the lantern
and with it you are gone
4
flickering soot
wiping my memory
of you
