Carpe Diem is a weblog on Haiku hosted by the wonderful Chevrefeuille. It’s all about a new daily Haiku meme where you can write a classical or non-classical haiku on a given prompt.
As is now known by most of my blogging friends, I am now very much in love with Haiku and so I’m trying my hands on Carpe Diem. Today’s prompt is Harbor.
Harbor
Winds of love blow fierce
Harbor me from the steel force
Lest I fall for you

Sometimes another’s love can bowl us over….best to become friends, then work from there – that would help a bit with the onslaught…

I agree. As they say, love grows. 🙂

Welcome at Carpe Diem ‘Reading Pleasure’, I am so happy that you have found your way to Carpe Diem. And this haiku on harbor … awesome … you have used the prompt in a different way I had expected, but the way you have used it is great. Falling in love … it happens to you and you can’t run away for it … love is a safe harbor, but you have to fight for it to be safe in a relationship.
Well done … nice composed haiku.

I do like the way you’ve used “harbor” as a verb. However, I think there may be a bit of a grammatical glitch: Could it be that “less” should be “lest” (meaning, “for fear that”)? Just wondering…
Safe Harbor

You are right, it should be lest. Thank you so much for this and for the lovely compliment.
