The Cherita was created by al li. I’ve fallen in love with this lovely poetry form. And for each working day I shall endeavour to post a cherita a day on my blog. 🙂

Muse

heat, pulsating heat

this girl is on fire
burning with words

oh for a muse
to set the words
ablaze!

This beautiful Cherita below was written by Mish D Sleeper (Sky). And this is what she says:

Last few days I read some beautiful poetry written by my wonderful friend, a fellow blogger and author Celestine Nudanu. She introduced me a new form of poetry called Cherita that I found it very inspiring. I have a feeling that I will spend this summer challenging myself to write many and many of them. This is my first one and dedicated to my teacher Celestine!

Thank you so much Sky. I’m humbled. 🙂

Cherita Dance

falling in love again

her verses on the screen
play music for tired hearts

something inside of me
invites old unrests
to dance

APED – Prompt 9: Late Bloomer

APED, Daily Prompt, Inspiration, Late Bloomer, Nature, Ray Stebbing, Tetractys

I was invited by Leo formerly of Haiku Heights to join in the new Meme he has created, A Prompt Each Day, a daily dose of inspiration on his blog. Today’s prompt is a phrase, Better Late Than Never which we are to use to write a poem, short or long, or a story.

I’m experimenting with the Tetractys – a short poetry forms  invented by Ray Stebbing. (My friend Jules is such an expert in this form) it consists of at least 5 lines of 1, 2, 3, 4, 10 syllables (total of 20). The Tetractys can be written in more than one verse, but then must each line must be followed by an inverted syllable count (10, 4, 3, 2, 1 syllables).

Late Bloomer

late

bloomer

petals shrunk

by the cold drought

your fragrance stagnated by the nettles

but like the vine, you reach out for sunshine

a golden bloom

unfurling

to be

me

The photo is by kind permission of Gilly.

lenten rose

3-5-3-3-7-5

between death

and resurrection

the veil peels

 and darkness

fades to a gossamer thin

revealing the glow

2

of immortal bloom

his shroud a blossom in Spring

the tomb his victor

then hush, bleeding piece of dust

we rise, for He is risen.

Happy Easter 🙂

Higher heights, Inspiration, Mahatma Ghandi

Done for Carpe Diem. We are to write a haiku, senryu, tanka or kyoka inspired on the following given quote by Mahatma Gandhi who fought against the oppression of the United Kingdom with his non-violence policy

‘You can chain me, you can torture me, you cane even destroy this body but you will never imprison my mind.’

Higher Heights

shackle not my mind

let it roam in wilderness

untamed with passion

unfettered by prejudice

fly, unchained to higher heights
