Angels

waking dream

I grasp at gossamer wings

fleeting angel

Sleep No More – For Barbara

Sleep No More

flimsy wind

your candle glows to dim

on the whimsical threshold

of  love…

the darkest side

2

on leafy green parchment

your story unfolds, glittering

to conclude

on a bare earth

one with the dust

not even ashes

grey as death

can seal the gaping holes

of your bullet riddled  body

ash to ash

dust to dust

3

sleep no more

the hand that sheds

innocent blood

the blood you took

from her virginity

sinking your fangs in

to draw life

her essence

to feed your misplaced basest instincts

on the altar of her love

you desecrate

with booms of your gun

a soul is snuffed

hers…

kill and thou shall be killed

sleep no more

Celestine Nudanu – 16/09/2020

Rest in Perfect Peace, Barbara Tommie

Dancing Angels

velvet night

how loud my praise

in tones of silence

carried across the heavens

dancing angels

Miracle, A Poem

12 Thursday Mar 2020

My son Cedric penned this poem and I just had to post it here.

Miracle

Is my life ending?

I lie on my bed

My mind in turmoil

I try to the best of my ability

But I still can’t shake off this feeling

That something can go wrong

If only I can turn back the wheels of time

I will make it right

2

I do not go through this alone

Many others feel the same anxiety

Only I am a little less apprehensive

Because there is a sliver of light penetrating this darkness

Believing in the Divine Being that keeps me moving

Believing that a miracle will come my way

The day of reckoning has come upon me

Cedric Nudanu – 12/03/2020

there’s so much to say

The Cherita was created by al li. I’ve fallen in love with this lovely poetry form. And for each working day I shall endeavour to post a cherita a day on my blog. 🙂

Please, if you have time do visit the Cherita site, http://www.thecherita.com/flipbook/ to read wonderfully written Cherita, edited by Larry Kimmel. The Flipbook contains 76 new and original cherita by 32 poets from the UK, USA, India, Australia, Ireland, Canada and Ghana. Thank you. 🙂

Distress

in my distress

I seek your face
beyond the blue vastness

a whisper, just a breeze
will do
for this soul on fire

Living Water

a droplet of water

as if from the branches
soothing my parched soul

spring of living water
a covenant
that I thirst no more
