Cute. I was thinking about 37 Military hospital when I saw that bat was the topic.
readinpleasure said:
Funny Nana, but I also thought the same you know. But somehow I could not write anything depicting the bats at 37 which would require some explanations for my friends out there in the diaspora. I felt lazy about that too. 🙂
Those bats are a mystery!

Although I haven’t watched too much of the Batman movies, I’m sure you nailed him perfectly from the stunts i’ve seen. 🙂

I don’t watch them too often myself. I over hear the kids’ conversations on the movie most of the time!

Nice take Celestine!! haha a ‘night rider’ ‘stuntman’ indeed!! Both Bats and Batman!! It seems like an eternity that the comic book hero has been around!! The caped hooded and masked, character giving him a secret identity which makes it so enjoyable!! 😉

Yes, Nanka. my kids can’t have enough of all the ‘mans’ or ‘men’ – superman, batman, spiderman 🙂

We used to see quite a few bats around here. Maybe I’m just not out when they are. Now I’ve got a new bug to worry about, a type of wasp that comes out in the evening, makes dirt mound nests in the lawn and eats cicadas and grubs. It’s supposed to be beneficial, but the nests in the lawn aren’t attractive. They only live for about 6 weeks so I guess they can do their job and stay 🙂
readinpleasure said:
As for me, bugs or wasps of any kind scare me and will feel so uncomfortable with them around.

Batman forever…makes me smile. I personally know of the bats flying from tall tree to tall tree. Kinda cool as long as they didn’t come to human level.
readinpleasure said:
I agree, Maggie. There are some huge tree (don’t know what kind) in front of a major hosptial in the capital city of my country where we have millions of bats migrating each morning to settle on these trees and then leaving to wherever they come from in the evening. This has been happening for years now, long before I was born. It’s been a mystery and the media has covered this phenomena several times.
We do not know if they cause any harm, except the noise they make disturbing the hospital inmates and workers. Commuters and pedestrians who hang around also have their clothes soiled every now and then.
Some years back, the military (the hospital belongs to them) decided to shoot these bats away. This was done but they came back in droves! They are still there, migrating en mass in the mornings and going home in the evenings. 🙂
