Ancient Chimes
grim shades dare the light
blighting ancient chimes of joy
Herod makes his plans
2
shimmer of light dares
sullen graffiti of clouds
ancient chimes of joy
soar above the cathedral
on waves of halleluiah

Thank you so much. ๐
This gave me chills and foreboding.
LOL! ๐ is that so? That wasn’t the intention though. I must admit that the photo looks ‘Gothic.’ No?
http://lucidgypsy.wordpress.com/2012/04/28/exeter-cathedral-2/ just so you know it isn’t ‘dark and gloomy in Exeter Cathedral!
Sorry. Perhaps it was the Gothic picture. ๐

amazing pair! who is Herod?
Herod is a Biblical king in the New Testament who gave out an order to have the baby Jesus killed because he didn’t want anyone to be king and he feared that Jesus would be king over the Jews. ๐
Loved the deep description in this piece.
Thank you Amrit. ๐
I have missed your poems. Welcome.
Thank you Nana. I’m back, hopefully.
